ECDIS course: training for bridge watchkeeping officers
The ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems) course has been designed to train bridge watchkeeping officers and other interested personnel in efficient use of ECDIS. During this course you will develop fundamental knowledge and skills to keep a safe navigational watch using electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), as required by STCW 2010 and according IMO model course 1.27.
Course duration and course dates
The duration of the course is five days, from Monday 09.00 hours until Friday 15.30 hours. The course ECDIS is scheduled to take place on:
- 30 January - 03 February 2017
- 13 - 17 March 2017
The ECDIS course fee is € 1.070,- (exempt from VAT), including lunch, coffee and tea, excluding travel and subsistence expenses.
It is assumed that trainees undertaking this course have accomplished some formal instruction in Terrestrial Navigation, have at minimum some familiarization with visual navigation, have accomplished a period of supervised bridge watch-keeping duties, and have prior completion of basic Radar/ARPA (MC 1.07). Trainees should also have considerable familiarization with personal computing operating systems, keyboard and mice or trackballs.
