Basic Training Ice Navigation in Polar Waters

This course provides training to Navigation officers to operate ships in polar waters and to address those additional provisions deemed necessary for consideration beyond existing requirements of the SOLAS and MARPOL Conventions, in order to take into account the climatic conditions of polar waters and to meet appropriate standards of maritime safety and pollution prevention.

Course duration and course dates

The duration of the course is 2,5 days, from Monday 13.30 hours until Wednesday 15.30 hours. The course is scheduled to take place on:

  • 27 February - 01 March 2017
  • 01 - 03 May 2017

Course intake is between 4 and 8 trainees.

Course fee

The Basic Training Ice Navigation in Polar waters fee is € 920,- (exempt from VAT), including lunch, coffee and tea, excluding travel and subsistence expenses.

Entry standards

Masters, chief mates and officers in charge of a navigational watch with a valid CoC.
