Accommodation
You can apply for accommodation in Leeuwarden in one of the student residence buildings. The accommodation consists of a fully furnished room with shared facilities like kitchen and bathroom. In most of the accommodation buildings internet connections are provided. You will need to bring towels and personal articles. You may purchase a bed linen set with SSH Short Stay on arrival (duvet, pillow, 2 sheets, 2 duvet covers, 2 pillow cases) for € 60,- or you may bring your own. On the website of SSH Short Stay you can find more information about housing in Leeuwarden: www.sshxl.nl/shortstay: link ‘NHL University of Applied Sciences’. In order to get accommodation you have to register for a room on the website of SSH Short Stay. The earlier you register for a room the more choice you have. The motto is: ‘First come first served’. You can not get a room if you do not register for one. Your housing request will only be approved if the correct rental period is filled in.
Procedure
- Go to www.sshxl.nl/shortstay
- Check the link ‘NHL University of Applied Sciences Leeuwarden’ on the homepage
- Go to ‘Terms and Conditions’ and read these carefully
- Go to ‘Instruction NHL’ and read the manual carefully
- Then register yourself as described in the manual
- Your application will be sent to NHL University of Applied Sciences for approval
- After approval you’ll receive a confirmation mail. Then you can log in to book a room!
Important
- Book a room online before arriving in Leeuwarden! It is only then guaranteed you have accommodation on arrival.You have to make sure that the rental period is only possible for the following periods:
- 1st semester: 1 August 2011 - 29 January 2012
- 2nd semester: 30 January 2012 - 31 July 2012
- Full Year: 1 August 2011 - 31 July 2012
Should you enter an invalid rental period, other than above, then your application will be denied.
- Before your reservation can be finalized you are asked to transfer the first payment to the bank account of SSH Short Stay. The first payment consists of the rent for the first and last month of your stay. After you have made a reservation through their website, SSH Short Stay will send you the invoice for the first payment which has to be paid within two weeks, in order to guarantee your reservation. If SSH Short Stay does not receive your payment, the reservation will be cancelled without prior notice.
