Visit Husqvarna
After a cold trip trough the Swedish city Huskvarna, we arrived at the company Husqvarna (the Q stands for quality). Husqvarna is a company that since 1689 a lot of different machines has produced. The core business at this moment is the production of the lawnmowers, with 75% of their profit. It is a company with lots of different specialties.
During the tour with a guide, we saw their history, the future plans and the factory today. The most interesting part of the tour was the interaction with Mr. Nilsson and Mr. Lokko from the marketing communication department. In groups we met them and we had a factory tour and museum visit. In the museum we saw all the products Husqvarna has ever produced, from the history until now. Motors, guns, microwaves and kitchens are examples of the products Husqvarna has ever made. A group of students is working on a introduction for a trimmer in 2011, details to be worked out and embedded in a communication plan.
It was a great and interesting experience to see a company of this size from the inside.
Pictures of this visit are posted below.
The Elmia Congress Centre
On the 15th of December the Communication students of the NHL Hogeschool visit the Elmia Congress Centre in Jönköping. Elmia is a Congress Centre for exhibitions, fairs and concerts and it contains 34.000 m2 in-door and 300.000 m2 out-door exhibition space.
The visit to Elmia started with an interesting presentation from Magnus Rindqvist and after that the studends had a tour through the congress centre. The students visited different halls and each hall was very impressive. The tour ended with a look in the pressroom. Despite the enormous exhibition space, the tour wasn’t very long. The visit to Elmia finished round two o’clock and it was a very instructive, nice and impressive visit!
