1 Issue monitoring and research preparation

This competence is about being able to recognize developments and signals both in the company itself and in its environment. And being able to interpret the relevance of the signals / developments for the company.

During the project students are working on an assignment for one of the Swedish companies which we will be visiting during our excursion in December 2009. In order to advice the companies correctly, the students have to know and be able to process relevant signals or developments in their plan. Therefore monitoring developments in the branch the company belongs to, in Sweden and in the overall EU and interpreting the relevance of these developments and signals for the company they advice, is a must.

The usefulness of the advice the students give, is partly depending on the way they’ve handled this competence.
