Engine-room simulator

The ER simulator consists of the engine and the control rooms. A special ER retro-projection screen (2 x 5m) displays the various engines and appurtenant equipment. By means of a touch-screen the systems can be controlled.

Variations in temperature and pressure during the various processes can be read.

The engine-control room contains the main switchboard and an operating panel for the diverse systems.

From the control-room the engines and appurtenant systems can be started with the aid of a so-called mimic, a graphical display of a system on a computer screen. Control takes place by clicking on the desired part. Action will follow.

Manoeuvring from the control-room is done by means of a telegraph and fuel or regulator handles. The whole process is sustained by the graphical display of vital process parameters.
