In the 130 years of its existence the institute has developed into one of the foremost nautical colleges in The Netherlands, of great renown at home and abroad.

Education and knowledge centre
The institute provides higher professional education: Maritime Officer and Hydrograhpy. Besides it provides several knowledge services: simulator facilities, labs, various courses and participation in a number of research projects.
