Island life
Students of the Maritime Institute Terschelling need never feel bored. In their leisure, when study periods are over, they have these immense beaches, woods and downs at their disposal for outdoor recreation in salubrious air.
Biking, kite surfing, rowing, surf riding, sailing, soccer, tennis, volleyball, horse riding and jogging are popular island activities, and our students are considered to be valuable assets at the local clubs. In bad weather, judo, bridge, chess and draughts are welcome options.
Some students are members of the local brass bands and choirs. Many sports facilities are available on campus via the student society.
The island has a public library and a tropical swimming pool.
Aquatic sports
Favorite sport at the MIWB ofcourse is rowing. The 6 rowing sloops come out at various matches. The student society owns a sailing sloop and can be found frequently roaming the "Waddenzee" wordt gezeild.
Quit a lot of MIWB-students practice surf riding and kite surfing. Just in front of theirs door.
