Route description
To Terschelling From Schiphol Airport: Travel to Harlingen in Friesland in the north of Holland to the ferry terminal to Terschelling. By car/cab this is about 1 hour.
By public transport the easy way is to take the train to Alkmaar and then the Interliner bus to Harlingen terminal. In total this takes 2-2½ hours.
Public transport
There is a Dutch rail connection with the ferry terminal in Harlingen. Also the regional and interliner buses have a stop at the ferry terminal. By car: Motorway N31 passes Harlingen. Take the exit "Harlingen-West" or "Ferry to Terschelling". There is a parking house underneath the ferry terminal. For extended stay a long term parking lot is more economic.
On Terschelling:
Upon arrival, the Institute is a 15 minutes' walk from the ferry terminal. Alternatively there are local buses or cabs.
